Amazon has released a desktop app for its agentic work assistant, Amazon Quick. The app is designed to handle everyday tasks across files, apps, and workflows with a big focus on security. It also integrates natively with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and Zoom. The agent provides proactive intelligence by running in the background to do things like flagging unanswered messages, reminding you of approvals, and updating deals in Salesforce. The tool can also take actions like drafting emails, editing documents, and creating files such as onboarding portals and budget calculators. With Amazon’s track record, and how easy Amazon Quick seems to be to use, a lot of business owners who have been hesitant to use autonomous AI agents might now take the plunge.

In other news…

Anthropic introduced new connectors that let Claude integrate directly with everyday tools and data sources such as Google Docs, Slack, Notion, and Gmail or Outlook for day-to-day work. Users can now pull in information and take action without leaving chat. This reduces friction between AI and existing workflows.

Gemma launched a Chrome extension that runs an AI assistant locally in the browser. This allows users to interact with AI without sending data to the cloud. It offers more privacy and control while maintaining functionality. Local AI is gaining traction as an alternative to cloud-based tools.

Adobe released the Firefly AI Assistant in public beta. It helps users generate and edit creative assets directly within Adobe tools. The assistant is designed to speed up design workflows and content production.
